Richard G. Beach

Greece - Richard G. Beach, 85, a faithful follower of Jesus Christ went home to receive his rewards on January 26, 2010 at Park Ridge Living Center.

Family and friends may call Friday (Jan. 29) 2-4 and 7-9 at the Younglove-Smith & Ryan Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Rd., (between English and Latta Rd.) Greece. A Funeral Service will be Saturday (Jan. 30) at the Gates Wesleyan Church, 2040 Long Pond Road., Gates at 10 a.m. Burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Houghton, NY.

In memory of Richard please consider donations to the Langano Clinic, c/o SIMUSA, P.O. Box 7900, Charlotte, NC, 28241. This is the Mission where Richard’s daughter Kim (Dan) works in Africa.

Richard was born the son of the late Harry and Eva May (Wightman) Beach on September 4, 1924 in Crystal Valley, Michigan. He received his Bachelors Degree from Syracuse University. Retiring from Taylor Instrument in Rochester, NY where he worked as a Mechanical Engineer. He and his wife Lucille loved to attend their church camp in Chambers, NY with their children every summer. After retirement they enjoyed wintering in Florida.

The funeral home proudly flies the Army Flag in honor of Richard’s service to our country during WWII, a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Richard was a long time member of the Gates Wesleyan Church where he held many position including Church Board Member, Trustee, Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher. He also served as Treasurer for the Central New York District of the Wesleyan Church.

Richard will be remembered by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years S. Lucille (Barnett) Beach; daughters Nancy (Virgil) Cecil of Hilton, Kimberly (Daniel) Scheel of Africa, and Robyn (Paul) Buxton of Spencerport; son Bradley (Elizabeth) Beach of Ohio; 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; brother Gerald (Marge) Beach of IL; several nieces and nephews; son-in-law Glen (Sherry) Falke; daughter-in-law Sylvia Beach. Richard was predeceased by his daughter Sharon Falke; son Stephen Beach; sister Dorothy; brothers Norman and Leslie Beach.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Park Ridge Living Center and Lifetime Care Hospice for all their love and care.
